Wake up in Notre Dame dorm

8:30-9:00 Breakfast in Jordan Hall of Science

9:30-11:45 Begin PTC taste receptor genotyping lab: Extract your own DNA from saliva and amplify DNA in preparation for genotyping   
*During incubation, Basilica tour

11:45-12:45 Lunch in the South Dining Hall

1-2:30 Gel Electrophoresis to obtain genotype

2:30-3:45 Begin DNA Barcoding on a plant--Each camper will be able to use DNA Barcoding (identify the species using DNA sequence) on a plant sample that they choose. They will be able to find a sample on campus or can bring one from home) Extract DNA from sample and prepare DNA for sequencing

3:45-4:30 Interpret genotype results from PTC experiment and discuss how genetic traits can affect medical treatments

5-6:30 Dinner in south dining hall

6:30-7:30 Option to play frisbee golf, volleyball, or free time

7:45-9:45 Movie Night

10pm Dorm Curfew
