Summer Camps

Summer camps

The DNA Learning Center is pleased to announce our Summer 2023 lineup! While we have not heard a final announcement about the University of Notre Dame's summer policies, we are hopeful that the programs we have planned will be able to be held. All registration is dependent on final Notre Dame summer policies. Any canceled programs will result in 100% fee refunds.

This summer, we will offer residential camps, allowing students to live in Notre Dame dorms throughout the week, as well as  two-day workshops for students, and a Virtual 3 day Research Camp.

Residential Camps

This is a one-week long camp from Sunday at 4pm - Friday at 1pm. This overnight camp allows students to experience dorm life in one of the residential dorms on the University of Notre Dame campus (multi- occupancy with gender-matched roommate/s). A typical day will include meals at the South Dining Hall and the chance to participate in many activities throughout campus. Students will be supervised at all times by current Notre Dame students serving as camp counselors throughout the week! Tuition is $1485 and includes housing, all meals, lab supplies, and a keepsake t-shirt and water bottle. Some limited needs-based financial assistance is available so please contact us prior to registering if you believe you would qualify. We will offer the same program three different weeks during the summer with slightly different intended ages. If you want to attend a week outside of the intended age range, please contact us prior to registering.

June 18 to June 23 intended for those completing grades 7 and 8
June 25 to June 30 intended for those completing grades 9 and 10
July 9 to July 14 intended for those completing grades 7-10

Gene Expression Research Camp

This program will feature authentic science research projects focusing on gene expression. It will be held July 17-19 from 1 - 3 pm each day and is intended for students completing grades 9 and up. Students who previously attended a DNA Summer Camp are encouraged to sign up, but no previous experience is required to attend. This camp will allow students learn about gene expression throughout the body and in different environmental conditions. This program will cost $225 and will be conducted over the computer so no kit will be mailed.

DNA Workshops

We will offer a variety of DNA Workshops throughout the summer. These two day programs will not include meals or other campus activities, but are a great way to fit some science into your summer. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Scientific Method Workshop intended to gain hands-on experiences around the scientific method and learning how to do science the right way.

June 15 and 16 9:30am - 11:30am  for current 5th and 6th graders

July  6 and 7 9:30am - 11:30am for current 5th and 6th graders

These two workshops are identical; please pick the dates that work best for you!
